In the new „EcoCity“ business park in Harburg‘s inland port, the 65-metre tall „Windtower“ is to be constructed on the former site of the New-York Hamburger Gummi-Waaren Compagnie (NYH). In addition to hotel and office use, a visible wind turbine is to be integrated on the top floors. Our façade concept associates the theme of „wind“ with the image of a billowing grain field, which – depending on the viewing point – presents a varying surface structure. Blade-shaped, iridescent vertical pilaster strips are arranged in the façade in varying configura-tions, so that when viewed from a distance, re-flections and different visual perceptions are created.
