A new quarter with 177 rental apartments, offices, shops and a hotel with 168 rooms was created on the site of the former Fire Protection Authorities in the middle of Frankfurt‘s Ostend. The new buildings form an urban ensemble. A residential building and a hotel accompany a new passageway, an office building and another residential building close the perimter block around a spacious inner courtyard. Private roof terraces are located on the roof of the seven-storey building. Each of the four building blocks has its own architectural language, united by the angular shapes that allow optimal natural lighting of the interiors and create exciting exterior spaces. The new passageway provides pedestrian access from Ostbahnhofstraße to the European Central Bank, enlivened by diverse retail areas on the ground floor and a hotel lobby with a restaurant and a bar.
