The extension of a tram line to the centre of the University of Bremen resulted in a changed urban situation. On the basis of an architectural competition, that our office won in 1994, the central area of the university was redevelopped. A 15-metre-high reception hall is the centre of the urban redevelopment. The hall connects two levels: an elevated boulevard and the lower street level with the tram station.In addition to generous flights of stairs, the hall contains smaller shops, an elevator and a media wall.
