In the 1960s, the Beensroaredder housing estate was built in the Bergedorf district. It is characterized by three- to four-storey residential buildings, two rows of terraced houses made up of flat-roofed bungalows and a parking garage located centrally in the district. After almost 60 years of use, the HANSA Baugenossenschaft eG, as the owner of the housing estate, is planning to further develop the existing buildings and to increase the density of the district with new buildings, which will replace the rows of terraced houses. The new building impresses with its solid construction using durable precast reinforced concrete elements. The focus is on simple, functional, and cost-efficient building – without compromising on quality or residential comfort. A clear layout and the selective use of proven materials result in modern, sustainable housing with a high level of economic efficiency. The concept is further enhanced by elements of the sponge city principle: green areas, targeted infiltration, and rainwater retention on the roofs actively contribute to climate adaptation. The result is not only long-lasting housing but also a future-ready, livable urban neighbourhood.
