A competition was held in 2020 for the conversion of the „Old Police Headquarters“ in Frankfurt am Main. The heritage listed building, which is over 100 years old, is to be redevelopped and added to by a high-rise and a lower plinth building. With a mix of office, hotel and residential uses, a lively urban quarter is planned as a link between the existing city centre and the new Europaviertel. Our design preserves the existing building as much as possible, the tower is positioned in the central courtyard. The building volume of the 50-storey high-rise is divided into five cubes, which apper to be stacked slightly offset on top of each other to form the 175-metre high, slender tower. Its cubature tapers towards the ground, giving the building its unique, characteristic silhouette.
