The project comprises the construction of the new Hotel Regent located at the corner of Scheidtweilerstraße / Melatengürtel as well as a training centre for the DKV staff. The building has a close spatial and design relationship to the neighbouring new DKV headquarters. The 4-star hotel provides 178 rooms on the upper levels, while the ground floor accommodates four conference rooms with a usable floor space of up to 320 square metres each. All necessary service facilities and a fitness area are located on the basement levels. The façade is characterised by storey-high, silkscreen printed window elements, which are for reasons of noise prevention designed as box-type windows, thus creating a three-dimensional effect. The surface of the closed elements is anodised in a shimmering shade of red. The arrangement of different façade elements generates an appearance whose effect varies during the day and at night.
