The “Unter den Linden” project implements a new residential estate on the park-like site of the former Ochsenzoll Hospital in Hamburg-Langenhorn. On a total site area of approximately eleven hectares, more than 450 residential units are constructed on the basis of the new development plan. The historic hospital buildings are under a preservation order, and the extensive park landscape with a tree population that is more than 100 years old is a listed garden monument. In close coordination with the historic monuments authority, the existing buildings were completely gutted, refurbished and finished with generous balconies and terraces. The new buildings in the open areas of the site add a vibrant contrast to the existing building stock dating from the Wilhelminian period and carefully increase the density of the development without sacrificing the overall structure grown over decades.
