The design for a hotel in St. Peter-Ording focuses on wellness in the context of a poetic dune landscape. The architecture takes up the atmosphere and material effect of this unique setting. A filigree wooden façade with relief surfaces and open lamella structures forms a harmonious connection with the surrounding dune landscape. Light and shadow effects as well as colour changes due to the materials' natural aging process are the distinctive design element. Two structures set at an angle to each other surround a sheltered garden that seamlessly merges into the dune landscape. Generous open areas on the ground floor afford views from the beach path and give an idea of the qualities of the dune garden. The topography of the surroundings is continued inside the building with flowing sequences of rooms and staggered levels. The guest can intensively experience the atmosphere and the view of the landscape through a variety of flowing transitions and windows extending down to the floor.
